Classes

  Things to know: 
  • Classes will be 1-4 students.
  • Private lessons are available.
  • We have quite a bit of flexibility as we start out, if there is a day or time you need, let us work with you.
  • Classes will be 1-hour per week (same time each week).
  • We use Brother sewing machines. You are encouraged to bring (and learn) on your own machine, but ours are available if needed. 

These classes are for children ages 7-17 (6 if the child has great motor skills, and is able to be attentive for an hour).

*These classes are a mix of adult and children, but all beginners.

We are available to do more daytime and evening classes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday. Please reach out with days/times that work for you.

Trial Class

This class is a 2-hour project based class to help you get to know us, learn a few basic sewing skills, and go home with a completed project. It will also help you to know if you are interested in committing to a sewing class. The price is $30 for two hours, with a registration fee of $15. You will need to bring fabric and sewing notions (you will be given details once your class is confirmed). OR you can do an all inclusive class where the materials are provided for you for $50. Beginner Basics

This class is for the beginner. You will learn how to thread a needle, tie a knot, and sew some basic stitches. After completing a few projects, we will move on to learning and using the sewing machine. You will learn how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine, change needles, how to select the right fabrics, how to cut and pin your projects, consistent seam allowances, and more! Students will make a variety of projects, building on their skills learned. Eventually, these students will work there way into garment sewing.

Intermediate Sewing

This class is for those who have some experience sewing and want to move on to more advanced skills. Students will make a variety of projects, building on their skills learned. These students will work there way into garment sewing.

Garment Sewing

This class is for the more advanced sewer. You will start with a small project before moving right into garment sewing. The student will have more say in what projects they want to do after the first few projects. 

Learn Your Machine:

This is a one time, 1-hour private lesson. You will bring your sewing machine and manual and we will teach you how to set up you machine, how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine, change needles, and the basics of sewing. We will do our best to answer any questions you might have. Registration is $15 and the class is $30. See the sign-up page for our current openings. This includes a spot for you to suggest a time. 

Beginner Crochet:
 
This class with introduce you to the different types of hooks, yarn, and other tools needed (or wanted 😂) for learning crochet. We will learn how to hold the crochet hook, make a slip knot, and learn the crochet language. Our first project will be made with the single chain stitch. The second skill we will learn is working in rows, which will set us up for our second project. Each week we will be building on the previous week's skills learned. (Registration fee $25, $60 monthly class fee, you will need to bring your own supplies to class) 
 
$25 Registration fee due upon confirmation of class. 

$70 monthly class fee, due at the beginning of the month.  Classes are prorated for the year. Some months will have 3, 4, or 5 lessons.

Student is responsible for sewing fabrics and notions.

Students receive group and individualized instruction.

All classes will eventually get to garment sewing. During each class the students skills will be evaluated and we will work at your child's speed. Some students will complete more projects than others, simply because we all work at different speeds, and that is okay. 

Students can enroll anytime during the school year. Students who wish to withdrawal from classes are required to provide a 30-day notice.
